4 Easy Steps to Building a Pot Fountain
|
1 Find a pot of a base. Usually in this type of craft, the typical type of pot that is used is a terra cotta pot. This is because terra cotta is fairly inexpensive, and can be easily decorated. It does not need to be decorated with paints or anything else if you do not want it to be, but its always good to know if that option is going to be available to you at a later date or not. So once you find a good, sturdy pot that you like the material of, you just need to make sure it is a decent size, a slightly large one, of at least 2 feet in diameter. Any shape will suffice. If you pot does not have a drainage hole in the bottom of it, you will need to drill one. 2 If you want to, decorate the pot. It will be easier to decorate it now, rather than later when it is full of water! 3 Add a fountain pump into the pot and thread the cords through the hole in the bottom. Use a malleable but waterproof material around the cords to seal any cracks if necessary. You dont want your fountain leaking! 4 Turn on the pump and enjoy the fountain! A pot fountain can also be a home for a couple of goldfish as well if you would like. They can be added now. Remember to add water as necessary, due to and dependent on evaporation and rainfall. Building a pot fountain can be a very fulfilling and easy task. Once you know how to do what needs to be done, you will see that it is not a difficult task, and once you have completed it you will feel successful. Everyone likes to feel successful when they try something new, it inspires them. The easier the task, generally speaking, the more likely they are to be successful at it. A pot fountain is very unique, simple and easy to make, which can help people to feel successful and fulfilled. Joanne is an author of Decorz.com.
