5 Sizzling Golf Grip Tips That’ll Slash Your Handicap In Record Time

In golf, you don’t just think about the swing and the clubs. You have to think about the golf grip, too. So here are a few golf grip tips that you can use to enhance, if not perfect, your game.

Tip #1: Choose Your Grip

There are three kinds of grips in golf that you can choose from. These are the interlock, the 10 finger, and the overlap. If you are a beginner, try the overlap or interlock grip. They are simple to do while at the same time they give you control over the club and the ball flight. Aside from this, those grips also give you a good feel of the ball. A third reason why these grips are good for beginners is that they are easy to master and you can easily get used to using them.

Tip #2: Strong Grip or Weak Grip?

There are some people who say that a strong grip is good to have. This is because it gives you good control of the club as well as prevents you from ending up with a thrown club after a swing. Besides, it also encourages a hook or draw. There are also some people who prefer a weak grip since this also allows them to relax and swing the club freely while at the same time encourages the slide or fade.

Confused of which you should have? Don’t be. A good grip for you is the one that feels most natural to you. It should be a relaxed and comfortable feel to you. Always remember that a very good golf swing grip is the very foundation of your golf swing.

Tip #3: Get to know the V.s

This is the orthodox position. This is formed by properly positioning both your hands so that your thumb and forefinger will form a V. You can start doing this by positioning your hands in a way that they point between the chin and shoulders. Should you want to have a stronger grip, try moving your left hand over your right hand just a little.

Tip #4: Experiment, experiment, experiment

Still not sure which grip is the right one for you? Try making your own variations of the basic grips. Look for the right grip that feels most comfortable for you and that allows you to control your swing and your ball. Don’t go for great variations. Experiment and do small adjustments one at a time. With each slight variation, observe how it affects the flight of the ball as well as your golf swing. With this, you will soon end up with your very own golf swing grip that does not compromise your game.

Tip #5: Master your Grip and your Swing

Always remember that whichever grip you end up using, it will always affect your golf swing. The tighter you hold the club, the less power you end up having on your golf swing. The firmer you hold the club, the lesser the speed you’ll be able to generate not just on the swing but also on the ball itself. In short, the tenser your muscles are, the slower your swing speeds.

Golf grip tips are a great way to help enhance your skills in golf. But always remember that what really counts the most is apply the tips and practice a lot. After all, you know what they say, practice makes perfect.
