1. Do an inventoryThe very first thing you need to do is take inventory of all the parts that were in the box. Then have a look at the instructions and make sure you are not missing any parts. If you are, head back to the store to get the missing parts.

2. Grab a plastic containerGrab one of those plastic containers that you find in your kitchen and drop all the loose parts into it. They'll be easier to keep track of and there will be less chance of loosing these tiny little bits.

3. Read the directionsRather than going by the old rule "if all else fails read directions" be smart and take a few minutes to read the directions before you start attempting to assemble the bike. If you read the instructions you'll have a plan in your mind before you start, which will make assembly go much smoother.

4. Locate the front wheelLocate the front wheel and tighten any screws or bolts that need to be tightened.

5. Align the handlbars

The cable will be attached the handlebars, so just drop the handlebars into the tube, align straight, then tighten with the included allan key.

6. Attach the seatDrop the seat into the seat post, align straight, then tighten.

7. Attach the pedalsUse the spanner to attach the pedals and tighten. Make sure you get the pedals on the right sides. Yes it does make a difference. Then attach the brakes.

8. Final checkBefore taking your bike for a spin, recheck all screws and bolts to make sure they are tight, then recheck alignment. If every thing checks out, you're good to go!

You've done it! No big prize just a smile of satisfaction knowing you are ready to get biking. Following these 8 steps to putting together a bike made it pretty simple. So what are you waiting for? Get pedaling!
