In some cases, however, control of the laparoscopic band is lost, thus preventing any later adjustments. It is also possible for the band to be absorbed into the stomach, rendering it just as useless.

After weighing all your options, it is only sensible to go with the weight loss remedy with the least complications and that is most effective. Not to say that there are no risks whatsoever with the mini gastric bypass, but these mostly occur when the reconstruction of the small intestines and stomach are done the wrong way.
