A Guide to PostExpo 2008



The PostExpo, held every year in London, is one of the more prestigious events in the postal industry. Having run successfully for 12 years, the one being held this year at the ExCel exhibition venue, London from September 30th to October 2nd promises to outdo its predecessors altogether. The event brings together professionals from every aspect of the postal industry, whether it is the post delivery services or mailing. It is reputed to have attracted a staggering 4,000 people from over 100 different countries to the venue.

The exhibition allows suppliers, contractors and manufacturers to speak directly to the customers, without the need of intermediaries. The programme consists of the exhibitions themselves and additionally some conferences, which will cover the latest technological advancements and developments in the industry at large.

There is no charge for visiting the exhibition, although there is a nominal fee for entry into the conference. At present, there is a discount of 15% available on exhibition tickets, making the events more attractive for the visitors. The event is set to take place on the 30th of September, continuing right through to the 2nd of October. The venue that has been chosen is the ExCel venue in London, allowing a truly global audience to avail of the highlights of the exhibition.

The venue is accessible via all modes of transportation and is situated right next to Canary Wharf. There are many roadways and trains that will take visitors right to its very gates as the exhibition venue has proved to be very popular in the past. The quickest route to the venue is to take the Jubilee train, which reaches the venue's railway station, ExCel station.

The London City airport is a mere five minutes drive from the venue, and has regular flights flying regularly to and from continental Europe. In a special service for the ExCel London, About Town Carriages, a taxi company, allows visitors to book passage to and from the venue well in advance. These reservations can be made using the Business Services unit, located on the ground floor of the venue.

The seminars that will be conducted are the real highlights of the exhibition, as these seminars will consist of talks and discussions carried out by the leader figures in the postal industry. They will talk on a range of topics including the current state of affairs, the challenges that face the industry, and the future enhancements that may be seen shortly. The programme is available for download from the site itself, offering visitors the opportunity to plan their itinerary well in advance and avoid missing their favourite events.
