A List of 10 Different HVAC Tools You May Need
|
Since HVAC units differ so widely, the type of tools you need will vary as well. There are some basic tools you may need, and then the parts will need to be as specific as the HVAC system you purchased or utilize. You should always have what type of HVAC unit you have on hand so that when you go to purchase tools and/or parts you will be able to get some in store assistance. 1. Levels You will want a level in most cases. You do not want to set your HVAC unit and many of the components at an angle. Even a slight angle can cause bumping and thumping noises, but worse, you will find that it wears out your HVAC system. 2. Flashlight This is usually something everyone has, but you will get a lot of use out of a flashlight when you work on an HVAC system. I recommend a flashlight just for this purpose be somewhere in your HVAC tools. 3. Books You can never have enough books to help you fix your HVAC system. A good line of books on electronics wouldnt hurt either. Of course, you may be able to purchase a book specifically for your type of HVAC system and this is a great addition to your library. This will act as a reference guide and should go right along side your manual. 4. Pipe Cutters This is something all HVAC tools should have with them. Nothing is as annoying as finding out that pipe is a few centimeters to big. You will need these pipe cutters to get the proper fit on your HVAC system. 5. Tape Measure A tape measure is great for any toolkit, but you will find that HVAC tools are not complete without at least one tape measure. You need a small tape measure that measures minute lengths so you can get the right fit for all of your gadgets. 6. Tachometer These are great for HVAC units. You will be able to measure as needed without fear of fixing or maintaining the wrong part. A good tachometer will let you know what is going out as well. 7. Tubing Cutters There are many types of tools that can act as a tubing cutter, but you should make sure this is one specially used for your HVAC system. 8. Gas Detector This is essential to you, your home, and your family. A gas leak can be deadly to anything living. 9. Pressure Tester A good pressure tester will let you make repairs efficiently. In addition, a good pressure detector will let you know of any possible problems that may be upcoming. 10. Tool Kit - A good tool kit will insure you are able to get to the HVAC tools you need when you need them. About The Author: Alphonso has been working in the home remodeling industry for last 5 years.
