Acura Prototypes Go Testing
|
Great news to all Acura fans. The new set of Acura prototype vehicles - ARX-01b models - have already set out for the race tracks recently. They had already been zooming through the test tracks of the Sebring International Raceway as part of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). These vehicles would be burning rubber and speeding up so as to take home the honor and prestige that comes with winning the 56th Mobile 1 12 Hours of Sebring which would be happening on the 15th of March. March 15 may seem to be a long way off but to those who are focused on what they would like to achieve, just a couple of weeks of training still would not be enough. They may have the best Acura Vigor parts as part of the whole machine however training and dedication and discipline in mastering the art of race car driving needs much time. Good thing the team has quite a number of professional drivers who have had proven to the racing world just what they have. Bryan Herta would be driving with Christian Fittipaldi for the team and they would be competing as part of the Andretti Green Racing team. Fittipaldi and Herta would have to be sure that they would be able to show off the art that they know about race car driving so as to be able team Penske Racing Porsche. Fittipaldi, through an interview with Auto Spectator, had disclosed that he would be driving car #26 XM Satellite Radio A GR Acura ARX-01b and on the upcoming competition, he shared his thoughts: “It feels great to drive a car like our XM Acura. The 'G' loads here at Sebring are very hard with these cars. But it is exciting to race at these speeds again. We had some mechanical issues during the test and the AGR guys will work on those problems. That is why we are here testing. I am still getting used to the car. Bryan [Herta] has been driving this car for a year and he knows in less than a lap what to change on the car. It is still a learning process with me. But I'm ready for the Sebring race." During the test drives, Herta, on the other hand, has been able to clock in 127.13 miles per hour. This would be his top statistic for the whole sets of test drivers through the tracks.
