All About Carole Fabrics

Carole Fabrics has been serving the design community for many, many years. It has been in the business for 45 years as a fabric converter, jobber and manufacturer. They are recognized as a major source in the industry. Carole Fabrics is a complete source for decorative fabrics and products for the interior design community.

As a converter, they source fabrics from mills around the world. These are exclusive patterns that are only available to their own customers. These fabrics are noted on their special price list and sample swatch programs with a CF by the fabric name.

As a fabric jobber, Carole Fabrics works with other sources throughout the world to find other unique patterns and designs to supplement their exclusive items. These serve to expand the line and cover all of the important needs of the design community.

Between the two, the Carole fabric program has grown to more than 6,000 selections. Additionally, they have the Tapestria, Van Roberts, and ConFab brands that cater to specific segments of the market.

Van Roberts upholstery collections is an integral part of Carole fabrics. They serve better designers that are actively supplying upholstered furniture to their clients. This sophisticated collection of woven designs is color coordinated to allow the use of multiple fabrics within the same room environment.

The Tapestria collection is a combination of multi-purpose fabrics and woven upholstery patterns. This newest addition to the company features extremely limited distribution, a high degree of exclusiveness and is recognized for its unique nature, the fashion forward selection of fabrics, and its very high levels of quality. Carole fabrics is happy to have this collection as a part of its company.

ConFab serves Carole fabrics in the hospitality and health care industry with fabrics to fit their specific needs. In addition to the fabric collections, Carole fabrics has a very large state of the art workroom, where all of the custom products are produced. The commitments to quality and service guide all of their efforts. It is able to accommodate more than 300 craftspeople in this room. Normal order turnaround times are 10-12 working days.

The color palette in the market continues to follow the warming trend of the last three seasons. There are still lots of reds. These have evolved to include more earthy colors, with more hints of browns and naturals. They are less vivid than before. Orange is seen as an accent, in hues ranging from bright citrus, for contemporary tastes and accessories, to the subdued shades of cognac, brandy, and whiskey. These blend well with the new red tones. Greens are again more muted this season. They have a more natural appearance to them. Still strong, these beautiful new colors will fit into almost any room, sharing space with furniture and accessories, rather than dominating them. One exception to this is the very bright Granny Smith apple green that you will find in more contemporary themes. Look for lots of pale, smoky, blue greens coming into play. The brighter colors are not quite as bright, allowing them to be more widely used and accepted. The fabrics we see in the Carole fabric collections are growing more formal and embellished. There are new themes from crewel, to delicate embroidery on silk and faux silk, to woven damasks and brocades. Velvets and suede are found more and more. Paisley and floral designs are back too. And yes, stripes are everywhere. From almost monochromatic pencil and chalk stripes to more boldly scaled barber pole varieties. They are natural designs that adapt and fit very well with larger scaled print and woven motifs.
