Area rugs are very versatile and moved from one room to another sometimes. They are inexpensive compared to buying a new carpet every time you decide to change the décor. Changing your area rug is easier than carpet by just rolling up and storing it in a dry area where moisture isn't going to draw mold to it. Later you can use it somewhere else. Cleaning an area rug depends on the size. Some of these rugs can be put into a commercial size washer to be cleaned. It might be easier to use a shampooer if you have one to clean it with the many different cleaners that can be purchase. If your rug is on top of the carpet and needs to be cleaned take it outside and clean without having to do both of them at the same time. When buying an area rug you need to first decide what room and the size you'll need to fit. If you have the colors in mind and the shape also the weave or material you're interested in, it will help in making the final decision of what one you want to buy. You can also get area rugs to fit your room wall to wall so it can be taken up without creating a big mess and save money by storing it for further use. Choosing the pattern and style you want is another difficult decision you'll have. Area rugs come in many patterns, like the Oriental, Indian, Persian, Contemporary, Modern and Traditional. If you already have the furniture than you'll probably want to stay with that style by adding color to the room. Some people buy their rug first and the furnishings to match the rug. There are many rug and carpet stores around that you can get samples of the different textures and colors, pick some up and take them home. Taking samples to your home to make the color and style shape is good because not all colors match or look good when you get home. Take your time before deciding on the rug you want to purchase. Spend your money on something you'll like and enjoy. The lightening in all rooms seems to be different especially from the store. Everything looks different in color at the store with the florescent lights. By taking home the samples you'll be able to see how the color will look with your own lighting along with the natural light that you'll get during the day. Not all rooms get the same natural light from outside depending on the location and number of windows you have. If you are having a hard time finding what you think you might want to purchase check on the Internet for more information on colors and styles. Some stores on the Internet will send you samples of the colors and textures that you are trying to decide on. Most Internet stores will have a toll free number that you can call to ask questions. Buying and making your carpet and rug decision is also a major project in the home investment. Bring the value on your home up by putting the right floor covering down. The floors are usually what people look at first when they walk into your home because it brings the feeling out into the room.
