Baby Shower Thank You: Picking The Right Lines
|
As you wish to show the proper respect and appreciation for each of your guests, the idea of filling up all those empty cards may begin to be a little scary. But, if you manage to follow these simple guidelines, you will be just fine: Write your thank you cards by hand. This will show your friends that you took the time to think of them, and enough time to sit down the table and write with your own hand a few thankful words. Remember to write your thank you card with personal and warm words. Do not just throw in a 'thank you for your gift', but mention what the gift was and how it will help your little kid. Always mention the name of the person you are addressing, and sign each thank you note with your name, your husband's name and your child's name. Another good advice is to be sincere about the things you say in your thank you card. There is no use in exaggerating how thankful you are, because you assume the risk of sounding phony. If one of your elderly aunts took the time to make something for your child with her own hands, do not dismiss her gift as not being useful, but do not go over the top with your thankful note. A gift with a special meaning deserves special attention from your part. Make sure to share with the giver the feeling that you experienced when opening up the gift box. This may be a book that you loved when you were a kid or an old baby picture representing your husband. In your thank you card, remember to show your gratitude not only for the gift, but also because the guest took the time to come to your baby shower and spend time with you and your other guests. A special thank you must go to those that helped you organize the baby shower party. Their effort must be shown proper respect, so include that when writing your thank you cards. If the baby is born when you write your thank you cards, put a picture with the new born in the same envelope with the thank you note.
