Bamboo Window Shades Dispense Decor, Fashion, Energy Savings
|
Bamboo shades, also known as window shades, come in a variety of colors and styles. Let's say you work from home. This means you probably have a home office. In this home office, it would be wise to cover however many windows are in that room. Well, window shades made of wood are highly desirable today. In fact, window shades for a home office are best purchased in a dark color. A dark color will give your home office the appearance of a professional setting where your work can be accomplished. If, on the other hand the window shades will be hung in your kitchen or living room, a lighter color, like blonde or light tan, will be more desirable. A lighter color will also allow more natural light to enter these rooms where families and friends will most likely congregate. As important as window shades colors are to a specific room, so is the style of window shades. If the homeowner has several small windows throughout their home, purchasing louvered, or horizontal window shades, will allow for more insulation and the ability to darken a room as well. In today's bamboo shade market, the homeowner has several window shades to choose from. There are styles such as rattan shades, grass style shades, reed style shades, jute style shades and woven wood shades. Along with these styles of bamboo shades are stick bamboo shades, rustic bamboo shades, zig zag natural looking bamboo shades, saw grass bamboo shades and many more styles. Since you are the homeowner, you can pick and choose whatever color and style that meets your needs for any room in your home. Saving energy is a top priority these days. In fact, saving on energy costs has been talked a lot about since the early 1990's. As our economy declines, using energy like we used to will have to be cut in half. Each homeowner just might have to find ways to save on their energy bills. One sure way of reducing the energy used in our homes is by shutting off lights, TVs and any electronic items in our homes that are not in use. Another great way of reducing energy costs is by the purchase of bamboo shades. Bamboo shades are just amazing. Besides the fact that they have a rapid growth rate, 4 to 5 feet per month, they are biodegradable. Biodegradable means any organic plant or animal life. A biodegradable product, such as the bamboo tree, will break down by the enzymes produced by the living organisms. For a measurement of how long it might take bamboo, which is a wood product, to degrade into the earth, paper (which is pulp from a tree) breaks down on 2 to 5 months. This will give the homeowner a sigh of relief with making a bamboo shade purchase. About The Author: Judith Persit is a qualified interior decorator with a special interest in window treatments.
