Beginningers Skateboard tricks
|
When you are beginning to skateboard, make sure you are wearing protective gearing, you should be wearing it anyways, but the helmet is absolutely essential when attempting tricks, even if it is a basic trick. The helmet is very important, especially when you are attempting skateboard tricks for the very first time. Helmets designed to protect you from head injuries that most likely affect your brain. You may feel embarrassed about wearing helmet, it's better safe than sorry. In addition, many skate parks these days require all skaters to wear helmet. Make sure your helmet fit your head snuggly in order for it to protect you. The right pair of skateboarding shoes is very important for your feet. I highly recommend you purchasing a pair of shoes designed for skateboarding instead of normal running shoes. Why is that? Skateboarding can be a very strenuous sport for your feet if you don't have the right pair of shoes. You can find many skateboarding shoes at local sports retailing stores for as low as $35. Skateboarding has been very popular and now skateboarding shoes are available at most shoe retailing stores. If you skateboard everyday, those shoes can last you four months and more. Skateboarding shoes are usually thick, fat and very padded to protect your feet, ankles, and give you better grip on the board. Getting a pair will save you a lot of pain. Protective pads for the elbows and knees are definitely a very good idea when you are skateboarding. Many of the times when attempting tricks, you will fall down and get scratches. I suggest you save yourself a few scratches on the elbows and knees. If you are practicing on your driveway, wearing elbow pads is an excellent idea. If you are practicing on a ramp or a half pipe, be sure to wear knee pads, it will save your knees from burning. Wearing wristbands are a good idea if you are just beginning to skateboard because you might fall the most at the beginning. When you fall, be careful not to get in the habit of using your hands. If you really want to be protected while you are skateboarding, there are padded shorts and jackets available at your local skate shop. You can even get padded hip protection to be on the safe side. The only disadvantage about skateboard safety gear is that it is not government regulated so when you are choosing, choose carefully. I suggest opting for the more popular and well establish skater brands, if you have any additional questions, don't be afraid to ask a sales associate. A good tip is when you are about to fall, crouch down as low as possible, so your fall doesn't hurt as much. The best part to fall in on a fleshy part of the body or you can always try to roll the pressure off. Even if your fall may be bad, try to relax your body instead of stiffing up, stiffing up can hurt you more in the end. Skateboarding is not an easy sport, but it is a likeable challenge for most people to take on. Be sure to be safe when you are skateboarding, it is better safe than sorry.
