Once you know this you know whether you need to speed it up through the service provider or if it is a performance issue of your PC.

The results may not be 100% accurate but they sure give you an idea of your Internet speed. Search for one such website and test your Internet speed. If it points out a low speed than promised by your service provider, it is time for you to take action on your broadband service provider.
