Brand New at the Magic Stick

On July 7, the Magic Stick will host the pop punk turned mature indie rock outfit known as Brand New.The tour will likely precede their new album rumored to be releasedlater in summer of 2009. Fans of melodic alternative rock will hear thefuture of the Levittown, NY quintet since the release of theirbreakthrough album "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me" in 2006. BrandNew is regarded as an ever improving group that graced the mainstreamduring the pop punk craze of the early late 1990's and 2000's. Thefirst release titled "Your Favorite Weapon" was met with nominalsuccess, and allowed the band to tour with such bands as Taking BackSunday, Less Than Jake, Glassjaw, Incubus, and Finch. The nextalbum titled "Deja Entendu" offers listeners a deeper version of thegenre as well as a hint as to the direction that Brand New's musicwould take. "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me" is seen as thealbum where the band fractured from the pop punk genre and created amore adult sound solidifying their evolution as a band. As of 2008 it was reported that Brand New has begun mixing their fourth release which they hope to drop in summer of 2009. Detroit concert attendees will likely get a healthy dose of what to expect from the upcoming album at the Magic Stick. Tickets are $27 a piece and general admission. Come see the future of alternative rock from a band that has gained noteriety of being one of the best in the vein. Their maturity as a group is still increasing. Be sure not to take your eyes of Brand New and see them before the release of their next album. The show promises to be a landmark in the alternative/pop punk area of music and is not to be missed.
