Brooke Haven and Michael Lucas

It is becoming more and more common for adult film stars to turn to directing films too. One person who took the same career path as Brooke Haven is the gay porn star Michael Lucas. Lucas was born in Moscow, Russia in March of 1972. He attended college in Russia where he graduated with a degree in law. For a short time he actually owned his own travel agency, but eventually he began working as a nude model and male escort. He got his break into the adult film industry by appearing in German pornographic movies. Lucas spent some time living in France and working under the very influential French director Jean Daniel Cadinot. He learned a lot from him about what is involved with directing this type of film and how he could make his dream a reality. Lucas founded his very own production company called Lucas Entertainment in 1998. He used the money he had earned over the years from working as a male escort to get it off the ground. He began his company in New York City rather than Los Angeles. Most pornography studios are based out of Los Angeles so he decided that in New York he would have less competition. Lucas Entertainment did very well in the first five years that in 2004 Michael Lucas founded Lucas Distribution, Inc, his own adult video distribution company. Michael Lucas continues to star in films under his own label, Lucas Entertainment, but his heart really remains in producing and directing them. The creation of Lucas Entertainment allowed him to act and direct because he was never able to make a decision as to which one he wanted to do more. Although Brooke Haven does not have her own production company yet, she is experiencing a great deal of success as a director. She paired up with Shy Love in 2006 to direct Vicious Girls Gone Anal and she even starred in it too. There were many people before her to pave the way, but Brooke Haven has proven to herself and her audience to be much more than a typical adult film star.
