Camera Dollars: Make Money With Your Digital Camera

I like a great deal working with digital cameras. Every time I buy a new one, I start taking shots of everything I see. Later, I found out that there can be more than fun in this hobby, meaning making money. You may ask if I am a professional photographer which I am not. But I can still make money with my digital camera.

The Clients

Websites do not only need fresh content all the time to keep in touch with their readers, but also good quality pictures. So webmasters can be your clients if you want to make money with your camera. Some of them use their own pictures, but others prefer to buy them. For instance, they will not go to Thailand to shoot a photo, they will buy it from somebody else.

Other good clients are real estate agents. Often, they need pictures of the houses they want to sell to people. Real estate business is really big as many people buy, rent and sell houses and apartments all over the world. There are real estate agents that can offer up to a few hundred dollars for a good set of pictures.

You may get lucky in other ways too. Imagine you are at a concert and you manage to get a good picture from your star. Who would be interested in it? The answer is simple: paparazzi. They are willing to pay even two thousand dollars for a great picture.

The Market

You will certainly need a market for your photos. Try photo stock sites, where you can meet your future clients. Also, here you can find webmasters interested in buying your pictures, as big amounts of money are spent for each site. You can sell your pictures for a fixed commission or you can bargain for your own price.

Another great place for selling your photos is E-bay. Here, millions of transactions take place every month, so you may try to make money on this market, too.

It is not exclusively that you must sell your photos online. Offline, you can contact banks, illustrators or advertisers that are interested in buying photos.

If you already have some experience and a nice portfolio that makes you proud you may try to market yourself. Build your own site and present people your works.

Your digital camera can be a cash machine. It depends only on you how you use it. If you are scared that you will not get your money when you sell your photos on stock photo sites, you do not have to be afraid. Most of them are working with shopping card systems.

A digital camera cost just a few hundred dollars. After you buy one, in case you do not have it already, you can start making money right away.
