Surprisingly enough, it can be very important indeed to have an ideal spot chosen for your new fireplace or stove. The location you pick affects how the heat from your new fireplace or stove will radiate throughout your house, and it will also affect the aesthetics of whatever room you select as the location for your new fireplace or stove. Since the location will have such an impact on the people who live in your house, as well as a lesser impact on the people who visit you, it is actually very important to consider the location well before the date of installation. Once you have found the location that offers the best heat radiation, take a minute to see what will have to be rearranged to accommodate your choice. Is the choice one that makes sense both in terms of ease of placement and installation, and also in terms of prolonged use? Alternatively, do you think it will turn out to more trouble than it's worth to put your new fireplace or woodstove in the place you've selected as ideal? Should you really have to sacrifice an entire loveseat or armchair to get the ideal placement for your fireplace? You really shouldn't have to turn your life upside down to make a fireplace fit in if there is a location that is slightly less than ideal in terms of heat radiation but much more convenient in terms of lifestyle and furniture arrangement, then go for it.
