In any marriage it can be a good idea to take the time now and then to assess how things are going and to see if there are areas that need to be worked on. Though some people think that this type of retreat is only for marriages that are in trouble, this isn't always the truth. If you are a Christian couple looking into Christian marriage retreats, the first thing that you should do is talk to the administration at your church. If they offer their own marriage retreats then you will want to sit down with whoever organizes them and get all of the information that you can. If you believe that your marriage is in serious trouble, ask what kind of intensive counseling they offer. If they only offer general marriage-strengthening exercises and more of a rest and recreation atmosphere, then you can ask them where you can find information on more intensive Christian marriage retreats. If, however, you simply want to get away together and work on taking your marriage to an even deeper level, then what they have may be just right for you.

You should take your time and look through the various Christian marriage retreats before deciding on which one to go to. You may feel more comfortable about the one that is offered by your own church, but you still want to look into others just to be sure. Whatever you choose, it could be the best thing that you ever did for your marriage.
