Air compressors for home use are different than business use. Home projects can be really time consuming and having a compressor can substantially reduce that time. All you need is a small portable unit that's easy to move around and it will run many of the common tools such as a brad nailer, impact wrench, or a drill.

But before you buy your compressor you need to know what air tools you plan to run so that you get the correct compressor. For example larger shears, some sanders, and even your car polisher will need a larger compressor than your brad nailer or drill.

For commercial use you will need an industrial compressor. They have more features and more horsepower so that your PSI and CFM needs can be met. You will also want to watch for the ASME certification which can be found on tanks up to 120 gallons.

Most commercial compressors are more stationary although there are a few on the market that could be considered portable. You are going to have to run a variety of different air tools which means your compressor is going to have to be large enough for all your tools and jobs.

There are several different types of air compressors on the market and it's a good idea if you learn a little bit about the different types. This will make it much easier for you to decide which is the right type of compressor for your projects.

There are also many different manufacturers on the market. Make sure you choose one that's got a reputation for quality products like Grainger, Coleman, or Bosch to name just a few.

Two stage air compressors are the most common type used in commercial, automotive, and industrial settings. With a two stage you get higher pressure than you can get with a single stage and it also lets you store more air for future use making a two stage much more efficient.

They will also produce more cubic feet of horsepower and they cost less to operate. There is less heat generated so there is less wear and tear to the parts and the life expectancy almost doubles.

If you are in the market for a new commercial compressor and commercial air compressor's tools you should be sure to shop around. There are plenty of excellent sites offering full lines for industrial use and at some terrific pricing. So what are you waiting for? Isn't it time you started looking for that new compressor?
