CompTIA Network Plus Training In Your Own Home Described
|
A major candidate for the biggest single let-downfor IT trainees can be attending multi-day workshops. Many trainingacademies wax lyrical on the 'benefits' of going in to their classes, however, they quickly become a thorn in your side due to many reasons: * Constant driving or public transport - very long trips most times. * Asking for constant holidays or time off - many trainers provideMon-Fri class availability - typically grouping 2 or 3 days together. This isn't ideal for most people who work, even more so when traveltime is included. * If we get 4 weeks holiday each year, sacrificing half of them for training days leaves us with very fewopportunities for days off. * Because of the cost involved, most schools fill the classes up to the brim - not ideal (and much less personal). * Maybe you like to work at a different pace to others in the class. This creates tension in the class. * Most trainees talk of the high costs involved with all the travellingback and forth to the venue and paying for food and accommodation canget very expensive. * Study privacy can be high on the list ofpriorities to quite a lot of students. There's no need to sacrificepotential advancement, salary hikes or success with your currentemployer while you're training. If your employer knows that you'reundertaking qualification in another area entirely, what are they goingto be thinking? * It's really not that uncommon for attendeesto not ask questions they want answered - just due to the reason thatthey're amongst other classmates. * It's a fact; days in-centre become simply unreachable, when you live or work away from home for part of your week or month. Itreally does make more sense to be trained when it's convenient for you- not the company - and make use of interactive videos of instructorsteaching a class. Training can take place wherever it suits you. If youown a laptop, why not get some sun outside as you learn. Any problemsand logon to the 24x7 support facility. Repeat lessons and moduleswhenever you like - memory is aided by repetition. And note-taking is athing of the past - everything is already prepared ready. Though thisdoesn't avoid each and every issue, it definitely makes things easier, simpler and less stressful. You also have reduced costs, travel andhassle. Watch out that all qualifications you're consideringdoing will be commercially viable and are up-to-date. 'In-house' examsand the certificates they come with are generally useless. From anemployer's viewpoint, only the major heavyweights like Microsoft,Adobe, Cisco or CompTIA (for example) will make the right impression.Nothing else will cut the mustard.
