Corner Bathroom Cabinet
|
A cabinet is an important part to any room. Without cabinets, it is almost impossible to store the huge amount of stuff that is accumulated over time. Sometimes, that accumulation is a joyous expedition, but on occasion, it is an adventurous road less traveled. I enjoy my cabinets and will forever enjoy searching for new cabinets to brighten my room. I found one not to long ago: my favorite to date. My new favorite is a corner bathroom cabinet. Okay, maybe this does not strike you as being a favorite for anyone, but I am here to tell you that it was indeed one of the most exquisite cabinets I have seen. Let me explain that I purchased this at a secondhand store. Indeed, it was old; it was not cheap. I fell in love when I first saw it though so it is worth every penny I spent. I was slightly worried about transporting the beauty because it did need some work. I knew it was sturdy, but I was concerned that it may fall apart. Who wouldn't be concerned? If you had seen this awesome piece of classic furniture, you would have felt the same. I got the corner bathroom cabinet home and decided I wanted to fix it up a bit. I spent the next few weeks stripping the globs of paint that this beauty had been exposed to. Of course, this was done in my spare time so it did take time. On the weekends I worked on it as long as my family would allow. When the old paint had been removed, I polished and buffed the beautiful wood that lay underneath. I knew it was special when I bought it because the drawers were dovetailed and I couldn't find any nails or screws. What I found was amazing. I found a symbol that I discovered later was from an Amish community that created this around the turn of the century. I was awestruck. This corner bathroom cabinet was amazing. I think that it had been painted over at least a dozen times. What I decided to do was to stain and finish the corner bathroom cabinet allowing the natural beauty to shine through. I never regret my decision. This beautiful corner bathroom cabinet has been the centerpiece of my main bathroom for years now. I have a great addition to my bathroom. There are five inner shelves to this corner shelf. They are propped on the legs of this Amish beauty. There are three legs that raise the whole corner bathroom cabinet about 6 inches off the ground. There are 3 main doors on the front and each has etched glass that protects the contents. I wonder if the glass was always on this corner bathroom cabinet, but even if it wasn't, this is beautiful. There is a beautiful design around the border of this beauty that deserves mention. I have never seen anything so exquisite and graceful. I will cherish my corner bathroom cabinet for the rest of my life. With proper care, this beauty will last many generations to come.
