Crunk Dancing - The Art of Letting Loose
|
Drunk dancing is not a new concept. It has been around for ages. What those who promote crunk dancing are trying to get people to do, though, is dance this way without being intoxicated. If you are drunk when you crunk, then you are missing the point! This kind of dancing encourages people to dance freely and expressively without having to loosen their inhibitions with alcohol. Many people are able to do this when they are alone and listening to musicas long as they know nobody is watching. It takes a little more courage to do this in a crowd. Few people can just start crunk dancing unless others join in, and fortunately this is how the craze has been developing. Instead of laughing at you when you crunk dance, other people are joining in. There are obvious drawbacks to the new crunk dancing craze. Even though it is meant to encourage people to have fun and dance without being drunk, its name can obviously be interpreted as promoting the opposite. Dance crazes usually start with the younger crowds, and younger crowds tend to exert a lot of peer pressure on each other. If some minors determine that the crunk dance means to get drunk and dance, then this is a negative thing. Underage drinking is a serious problem, and should never be taken lightly. Though there is nothing wrong with promoting freedom of expression in dancing, the concept can be abused. Anyone who promotes the crunk dance should emphasize that it is a way to have fun without being intoxicated. As long as people are responsible about crunk dancing and promoting it, it can be a fun way to get in on the latest craze. If you are interested in this latest dancing fad, get together with your friends and practice. You are bound to have hours of laughs and good exercise!
