Decorating with a Large Vase

When it comes to decorating, you should never overlook the statement a large vase can make. No matter what your home décor, or your preferred method of decorating is, you can always enhance your interior designs with the addition of a large vase. Natural materials are a key element to home design and whether you prefer long stemmed flowers, dried naturally twine, or tall bamboo grass; your vase is the perfect container to hold and display many beautiful and natural objects.

When choosing a large vase, you may base your decision by choosing colors, materials, or even patterns that are imprinted on the vase. Glass vases look wonderful on mantles but aren't well suited for floors. However, a large brass vase can look stunning and spending when showcased in a foyer or hallway. You can also easily convert a large floor vase into an umbrella stand or other handy item for use in a hallway.

If your vase is medium sized, then you may want to place it above your fireplace. Fresh bouquets look gorgeous in vases, however you don't have to limit yourself to fresh cut flowers year round. Many people have found a variety of decorative uses and ways to display vases. One idea includes filling a large vase (preferably one that is see through) with colored glass, rocks, or marbles. You can find these available for purchase from a craft and hobby supply store, or you can use the glass rocks that are sold for aquarium use. Another idea is to make a bouquet of flowers that is displayed year round in the vase. Some magnificent faux flowers have been crocheted, knitted, decoupage, or crafted from clay and then painted. No matter what you decide to use for your bouquet, your large vase will look marvelous as it proudly displays your handicrafts.

The key areas of home decorating include wall decorations, paint, flooring, accessories, furniture, and plants. By incorporating your choice of a large vase with plants, you will be able to instantly see your interior design plan come to life. If you have ever noticed that a room or an office lacks appeal, then you may be amazed to discover that plants or flowers may be just what the room needs to make it an eye catcher.
