Can you hear it now? Drip..dripdrip.is it driving you nutty? A dripping faucet can do that so rather than let it drive you nuts perhaps its time to order some Delta faucet parts to do the repair?

Save your money and avoid that call to the plumber. Theres no need to spend a small fortune on a faucet repair just to get rid of that annoying drip. Just a few steps and you can become your own best friend and in house plumber.

Lets assume the shut off process went off without a hitch. Now you need to start working on removing the old taps. Look at the top of the fixture see the nut? Turn it counterclockwise to remove the stem.

A ball type fixture will have a set screw on the lower part of the handle. Youll have to remove the screw and then unscrew the plastic ring and pull out the ball assembly.

Now all youve got to do is remove the old washer and replace it with the new washer. Tighten the screw but dont over tighten. Reinsert the stem and twist it clockwise. Tighten the nut so that it is back in place. Thats it you are all finished. No more drip drip drip.

If it still leaks youve got more problems. Youll need to replace the valve seat or perhaps the entire fixture if the parts arent available. You can buy a complete repair kit online or at your local hardware store.

To replace the ball fixture youll need your screwdriver to lift the rubber seat. Replace it with a new one from the kit. Give the spout a tug by lifting and turning from one side to the other. You need to remove the o ring of the base. If it doesnt want to come off just cut it off.

If you have to replace the ball type fixture just use your screwdriver to lift the rubber seats and then replace with the new ones from the kit. You need to give the spout a tug by turning from side to side while lifting at the same time. Readjust with the tool that comes with.

Once you are done you just need to turn your water back on and check for leaks. No leaks youre the greatest in home plumbers. Still leaking youre fired and its time to call a licensed plumber.

Parts are worth having on hand. You never know when you might run into a small problem and if youve got the parts on hand it will take only little while to get things fixed up. Purchase a kit or individual parts if you like. A kit is very handy if you want to be stocked for an easy rebuild.
