Detox Patches - The Medical Truth Behind
|
The advertisement for detox patches claims that they work and that is no surprise. Here is how they say these detox patches work: they are actually pads that can be applied on the skin, due to the adhesives on their rims. The pads are claimed to be able to absorb the toxins from your body, while you lay asleep in your bed. All you have to do, they say, is to apply a pad on an area that you think is affected, and keep it there for about eight hours. When you wake up, you will see some black substance on the pad, that is claimed to be the toxins taken out of your body. As with acupuncture, it is said that the best area to place the detox patches on your feet, as any organ in the body has an allotted area on your soles. They say that once applied on the feet, the detox patches will start working, by stimulation the affected organs to drive their toxins out. This idea is not, actually, something new. On the contrary, a similar wonder was invented a few years ago and applied in spas all over the country. People going there for treatment received a salt water bath to their feet, while the water was passed by electrical charges. The water turned black and people thought that those were the toxins driven away from the body. There could be nothing more untrue, as the water turned black for some other reasons, that had nothing to do with the toxins in the body, but more with the rust from the electrolytes released in the water during usage. The idea of detox patches resembles a lot with this scam, so caution is recommended. We need some basic knowledge to see the truth in this case. First, scientists clearly state that there is no possibility to take the toxins or any poison from your body through the skin. Even if some substances can penetrate the skin, actually, this layer that covers out entire bodies is resistant to any such actions and they do not allow anything to come out, as simple as that. Lets assume that detox patches work: what would happen with the toxins taken out of the organs? They will be released in the blood and from there, they would get into the liver or the kidneys and taken out through urine. The bottom line is to stay away from such miracle workers. Methods for taking toxins out of your body exist, but they are not called detox patches. About The Author: Balva Rudick is the Editor and Publisher of Article Click.
