You'll see lots of different suggestions about how to detox your body. The internet is full of friendly advice, but the advice isn't always that good. Here are some healthy suggestions that will work to make you feel better and probably look better, too. Environmental toxins are in the food that we eat, the clothes that we wear, the air that we breathe and the water that we drink. There are so many of them that our body's systems and organs become clogged with them. The natural way to detoxify the digestive system, the kidneys, the liver and the cardiovascular system is to eat more plant-based foods that are high in fiber, and to drink more purified water. If at all possible, the foods should be organic. Organic foods are richer in nutrients. Certified organic farmers do not use pesticides, herbicides, artificial fertilizers or other toxins. The purified water that you drink should be the most natural form that is available today. If you don't live on a farm in the mountains and own a spring that has been thoroughly tested for contaminants, the most natural form is home filtered. When some people write about how to detox your body, they suggest de-mineralized or distilled water. But, those are unnatural forms. Your body was not designed to function on them. Nearly everyone has heard of electrolytes and their importance in preventing dehydration. The most important electrolytes are sodium and potassium. Those are minerals. Small amounts of sodium and potassium are present in every spring on earth. Other minerals, including calcium and magnesium may also be present. If you are trying to get close to a pristine state, you obviously don't want to drink something that is demineralized or distilled. It just doesn't seem to be a logical part of how to detox your body. On the other hand, drinking water from a tap or from a bottle is not the right choice either. If you are on a public waterline, there will be chlorine and other cancer-causing chemicals flowing out of your tap. If you drink from a plastic bottle, you are consuming the chemicals used to create the plastic. They also increase your cancer risk. The thing to do is install a multi-stage selective filtration device. At the very least, you should have one on your kitchen tap and your bathroom's shower head. Toxins are absorbed through the skin and inhaled along with the steam from a hot shower. Once you have installed these purifiers, here's how to detox your body: Drink eight ounces every morning when you get out of bed. Eat raw fruits, vegetables and nuts for breakfast.
