Discipline In The Fight Against Acne

Acne skin care is all about following daily skin care routines with complete discipline. So lets take a look at how acne skin care can be applied to our daily routine.

One of the major acne culprits is the consumption of an oily and unhealthy diet that most of us are guilty of. Cheeseburgers, ice cream, excessive chocolate and overly processed foods all contribute to an unbalanced diet and only get in the way of you having glowing, healthy acne free skin.

Wash your face and body with water and dab gently after your wash. Avoid scrubbing very hard and using cleansers that contain alcohol. These factors can cause skin irritation, and rather than alleviate acne it can contribute to a further outbreak. Washing your face gently helps remove excess oil, which prevents the pores from getting clogged and forming pimples.

Exposure to grease, pore-clogging cosmetics or hair products can worsen acne. Also, if you wear makeup, you should use water based, not oil based, makeup so that your pores can breathe.

Medically speaking, acne is caused by many internal body factors such as a weak immune and digestive system, impaired internal detoxification system, and stress.

Try to avoid stress and sleeplessness, this is a good way to help with acne skin care. Stress causes hormonal action, which can induce acne inflammation. All of these are not easy to do with our busy lifestyles and they require discipline on your part to help achieve healthy, acne free skin. Avoid putting your hair styling products directly on your scalp. The hormones cause the glands to produce too much oil, clogging pores and resulting in pimples.

Outside influences like weather elements, pollutants, humidity and the bacteria thriving on your skin contribute to aggravate your acne. Medicines taken for epilepsy, asthma, and alcoholism have been known to cause acne flare-ups. When you are on a medication that causes acne, do not add an acne fighting medication to the mix, it is not a good idea.

Acne can be embarrassing and make you want to hide your face. It comes in all different forms and affects all different kinds of people. Acne can also be a little painful, cause discomfort and be an ugly sight. Worse, if handled inappropriately and left untreated, acne can lead to scars, marks and pigmentations that may eventually be permanently fixed in the skin. Try your best to add a little discipline in your fight against acne and you will be rewarded with healthier acne free skin.
