Don't Waste Sink Space-Dishwashers that Fit Under or In the Sink
|
GE is the only company I could find that offers a 24-inch under sink dishwasher. This model has five wash cycles with 12 options including a setting for pots and pans. Several retailers carry this model ranging from $469 to $545. Sears carries it for $500 but it is only available in stores in certain areas. It is EngergyStar rated to certify that it is energy efficient. The top rack is space conserving to make the best use of available room. The bottom rack has curved tines to make room for larger items such as broiler pans. GE puts a QuietPower motor in this model to keep it as noise free as possible. The control panel has a dial for staring the cycles with four push buttons to select options. It has a 1-year warranty of parts and labor. The only other dishwasher comparable to GE's under sink dishwasher is KitchenAid's in-sink dishwasher. Kitchenaid has this unique in-sink dishwasher that would be perfect for small kitchens if there is not a large demand in dishes. These can finish small loads quickly. It can also double as a sink basin or a work area if you cover it with the cutting board top. Since it is relatively deep, this in-sink dishwasher can was pots that are up to 14 inches tall. The two models of in-sink dishwashers will cost from $1799 to $1829. They have four wash cycles and are EnergyStar rated since they use half the amount of water of regular dishwashers. Although small, these in-sink dishwashers can still hold a five-place setting. With a sanitizing rinse cycle that heats water to 160 degrees, the in-sink dishwasher will keep food preparation safe with bacteria-free utensils, dishes, and pans. Whether it is under the sink or in the sink, dishwashers are becoming even more convenient for places that need to make the most out of limited room. Apartments dwellers could use either of these space saving dishwashers to get the convenience of automatic dishwashing without have to sacrifice storage space in cabinets.
