Congratulations! YES...that's a good thing. Even if you live in a cave; whereby you would be negotiating with the bears and squirrels for food; everyone has a sales pitch.
How about that two year old at the grocery store negotiating for a box of Sugar Whack Cereal, or a teen trying to wrangle the family car keys? How about you with your boss? That suggestion you made to the booster club? How about those of you on Twitter and Face Book, any 'sales' going on there? If you have any hope of growing your home based business you have to fine tune your skills. Sales is a bad word only when the skill, and I do mean SKILL, is perpetrated by those whom have no skills. Customers don't want to be sold...they want to buy. Their decision. But what are you taught? SELL,SELL,SELL. MLM reps are likened to someone with the Swine Flu because of that sell at all cost mentality! If you meet someone new...SELL. Sitting in your pew at church...SELL. Family gathering...SELL. Christmas cards...SELL.....
FACTOID: The chances of you closing someone on your MLM product or service is one in fifty two! (Well, that just about exhausts (and alienates) all my friends, groups, committees, relatives and co-workers!)
I'm not saying stop offering your business to others. What I AM saying is to learn how to be a Professional Salesperson. You must learn to sell yourself. "People don't care what you know until they know that you care." It becomes a skill when the customer/prospect becomes attracted to you and what you have to offer.
What is for Sale, is YOU. If you expect someone to take a leap of faith with you, then you'd better be confident, strong, passionate...and act much more experienced than you feel. The first step to selling yourself...is selling confidence. That pit in your stomach is the fear of failure...the fear of the word No. It Will Always Be There! Get used to it.
The truth about the economy is that people ARE buying. They're buying products and services every day from confident people just like you. No more excuses,
OK? Home Work...Study professional salespeople. Hardware, clothing, car sales and repairs, furniture, even," would you like fries with that?" is sales . Watch their every move. Some are smooth and professional. Others will embarrass you because they remind you of you! And YOU probably responded to their sales pitch just like your prospects do with you. Find a mentor.
