In case that you do not have any embossing wheels around, just use some stencils. Stencils are easy to find in many craft stores. With a hammer for embossing and stencils, just tap the design into the stencil, and there you have it: your embossed design. It may take some time and practice to achieve the best embossed design. When you see a model that stands out from the leather very well, then you will know that the person that created that embossed design spent some time to get it done. Just learn how to handle the hammer and the stencils and you will be a great leather craftsman. Blind stamping refers to embossing a leather piece, but without any colors on the model. If you want, you can add any colors you want after you finish with this. You can also use stamping the model onto the leather. This works just like a rubber stamp on a piece of paper. This can hardly be referred as an embossing technique, as the model stands out because of the colors stamped on it, without being tri-dimensional. The most complicated technique is tooling, an art that requires time and dedication to learn. You will need to learn how to use a chisel and a hammer to create particular designs.
