Sun decks are perfect for properties where the ground slopes. They are often built as an extension off of a patio area giving all guests the best of all worlds. If you want to increase your homes value just add a sundeck. Youll need to hire a contractor unless youre a bit of a handyman then you might want to go it alone. After all you can build your deck from scratch by purchasing your materials from the lumber store. Think what your friends will say when they find out you built it all by yourself. If you are building on a slope it is really important that you hire a contractor to deal with it. There may be issues with stabilizing the back or working off of sheer drops. These type of projects are not for the home handyman. You will want to get a quote from the contractor before you undertake this project. In fact you will want to get at lest thee quotes. The type of lumber will depend on the contractor and your personal choices. You may need large timber beams installed if your sundeck is going to be on a sheer drop off.
