The fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel involves the evil witch that wants to eat them. They are enticed by her house of candy and gingerbread. Yet the young children are able to work together to outsmart the evil witch. Many cartoons on TV, especially around Halloween time focus on this type of character as well. It is one that allows the villain to be portrayed and then the heroes of the show to be victorious over them. In the Wizard of Oz, the evil witch is the one that makes things so hard for Dorothy. In the end they are successful in killing her though and Dorothy is regarded as a hero. Of course this particular show also shows that it is Dorothy's awful neighbor that turns out to be the evil witch in her dream. That is the lady that wants to take Toto away from Dorothy. This is one of the first analogies in the movies where women were coined with that phrase due to their hateful behaviors. Disney has made many top films with the character of an evil witch involved. The story of Sleeping Beauty is one that is the most famous. Of course the term evil witch is often used to identify women that other people find to be mean and spiteful. It can be due to a falling out or even a person that you work for that is never nice to anyone. The term is often reserved for those that you really can't handle being around for very long at all. Typically the evil witch is portrayed as very ugly and even with a wart on her nose. She has a very evil laugh that can make your skin crawl. She many have monsters or black cats at her beck and call as well. The Evil witch wouldn't be complete though without her magic or her broomstick to ride on. The evil witch is a very common theme for Halloween, and young girls as well as adult women love to dress the part. There are many ways to create an amazing evil witch costume.
