Excitement Builds for Gossip Girl Season One on DVD

Gossip Girl is a television series that chronicles the lives of the upper elite and is broadcast on the CW network. The idea for the series came from a book series that was penned by Cecily von Ziegesar. The decision to adapt the series to television was made and the show debuted on the CW in 2007. The reviews were mixed when the Gossip Girl television series first debuted because most of the people watching were fans from the book series. Since so many of the viewers had read the books they were expecting the television series to be identical, but this is just not realistic, which is why it is called an adaptation. Cecily von Ziegesar, the author of the series decided to release a statement saying that she was very happy with the adaptation and could not be more pleased with the amount of her storylines that were being used in the show.

Throughout the first season of the show, the number of viewers just kept growing every week. The television series is comprised of six main characters, most of who live on the posh Upper East Side. The characters are Serena van der Woodsen, Nate Archibald, Blair Waldorf, Chuck Bass, Dan Humphrey and Jenny Humphrey. Blair, Nate, Serena and Chuck all live privileged lives on the Upper East Side, whereas Dan and Jenny Humphrey live in Brooklyn. They all attend private schools in the Upper East Side; the girls at Constance Billard School for Girls and the boys at St. Judes. The show deals with many issues that teenagers face everyday, which makes it very easy to relate to these characters. Most of the parents of the main characters also have storylines in the series which makes it truly a show for all ages. Whether you are a seasoned Gossip Girl fan or a brand new one, you will definitely want to check out the Gossip Girl Season One on DVD.
