So, you want to make money using an extra income idea? Then, there are some things you must consider before you get to work.

First, check to see if your idea about making extra income has a demand. Then do not neglect other ways to generate cash, like developing a residual income stream.

Be prepared to face quite a long period of time before your idea about making extra income online gets checked by the publishers. There is no need to rush as hurrying things can only lead to undesirable effects. Let’s say that your idea is good and focused on such an exceptional topic. Still, the publishers need to assess all the financial risk that it is involved in your idea. Also, they must be really convinced that the book about your method of generating extra income will be sold.

So, the best thing you can do is to let those several months used by the publishers to verify your idea pass. Still, think about taking action into your own hands.

The period of time you need to wait for the approval of your idea must be used to assess, personally, the market for your book. Test the market and do it using the internet. First, try to locate some serious publishers specialized in the non-fiction niche books, by using search engines like google.

The first criterion for choosing your publishers is that their features correspond with your area of expertise. Then, be careful that the submission of your work does not cost you a dime. Last, but not least, do not accept a commission that is less than 30%.

You certainly noticed that 30% is higher than the commission you would receive for a hard copy of your book. That is because the online publishers do not face the same risks as the traditional publishers do. Plus, your idea is not only a money making opportunity for you, but for them, too.

Also, another great feature of publishing your book in the online format is that you are able to see the demand for your idea of making extra income. Usually, the interest for a downloadable book is noticed quickly after its online release.

By testing the market through this method, you will know if the hard copy of your book will have some success. Maybe you will not sell thousands of downloadable copies of your book, but if you manage to convince 50-100 customers that your idea is worth taking a look, over two or three months, than your level of confidence in the success of your book should increase.
