Facts About Anxiety



Guess what, everyone has Anxiety. And actually 1 out of 3 people actually suffer with anxiety disorder? And this does tend to be more common problem to women than men, but that's mostly because of the fact that a lot of men actually do not like to admit that they have a problem with fear. But anxiety is actually about fear.

If we would look for definition of Anxiety in Webster's dictionary it would say something like, "Anxiety is a painful and uneasiness of mind." And boy is that true!

Over and over we anticipate that something bad is going to happen to us. The most common symptom is increased heart rate and palpitations. Heart palpitations is a feeling when your heart beats so fast that it feels like it's going to just pop out of your chest. Also, feelings of nausea or diarrhea, or upset stomach, where you feel that you will get sick or have to find a bathroom.

Another symptom would include, dizziness or spacy feelings where you feel like you are just not there. That was a big symptom for me. You might also feel shaking and sweaty palms. Or just a feeling that you need to run, but have no idea why or where.

You will experience these symptoms with anxiety disorder. Some people even complain of headaches or an uneasy feeling always stirring up insde them, but that is actually an anxiety disorder .

I would suggest that you would go to your doctor and have a physical. Probably just after I said this, you are feeling a little bit afraid that they will find something… or afraid that they will not find anything - and this is typical. Just keep in mind that 85% of the time, they will find nothing wrong with you. Then you will know for certain that these symptoms are anxiety related.

The bad thing that might happen is that in 10 or 15 minutes of talking with you, your doctor will give you a prescription for antidepressant drugs and will tell you that this is your solution. If that happens you need to be careful with taking medications.

Some medications can be beneficial but a lot prefer the natural treatment. If you are like me, you don't want to take any medication at all and you are afraid of medication.
You don't want a strong drug to affect your brain and your behavior and become dependent on them. And people do become on them (you can just imagine what happens if they are on the plane and they are out of pills).
