Famous Philosophers Throughout Time

Philosophers are individuals who spend their time studying and examining a particular topic. Many of these individuals study a type of philosophy that is known as psychology. Psychology is the study of the mind and the impact that it is has on the human body. Throughout time there have been a number of great philosophers who have forever changed the way that the world thinks and looks at itself. Thomas Paine was born in Norfolk England and he later became known as one of the Founding Fathers of America. Thomas Paine is most known and remembered for his many political writings. These writing were how he expressed many of his views and thoughts on America. He was also one of the first to publicly announce that slavery was inhumane and should be stopped. Edward Wilson, commonly credited as E.O. Wilson, is an American promoter of sociobiology. He is a well known biologist who has been credited for developing sociobiology. His theories have been used to explain that biology has a direct relation to the way that human beings behave, act, and socialize. B.F. Skinner, sometimes referred to as Burrhus Frederic Skinner, is a famous psychologist who changed the way that many people viewed behaviorism. His theories have yet to been fully proven; however, he believed that the behavior of a person can be explained by an external stimuli. Although this theories have always been meet with criticism he is still consider a physiological expert. John Rawls is a popular political philosopher in America who had a set of views and theories that related to the justice system. He believes that rules and laws should be set up so that not everyone knows exactly what they are or when they may come about. He often claimed this would promote equality among individuals of all ages and races. Robert Nozick was a famous political philosopher who spent a large portion of his career teaching at Harvard. He regularly expressed his views that a capitalist society is the best form of government. He claimed that it would help to liberate Americans and keep the government from constantly interfering with the rights of citizens. William James, an American philosopher back in the 1800’s, was extremely vocal on his views and beliefs. He thought that people who had positive thoughts were more likely to see positive results and visa versa. He used this a way to encourage individuals to think positive instead of thinking badly. John Dewey was an American philosopher from the late 1800s. He is most likely known and remembered for this thoughts and theories on religion, values, and society. He believed that religion should be expressed through art, science, and democracy. The above mentioned philosophers are just a small sample of the many great and historical philosophers from all around the world.
