Find your own pace with the Pacemaster treadmill
|
To go a little bit into the company's history, Pacemaster is producing treadmills for over 35 years and the experience acquired over this time is quite visible in the quality of their products. Typically, nowadays Pacemaster releases products to aim for a "complete" solution, meaning that the treadmill you will buy will probably come with a very wide variety of gadgets, which will help you to evaluate your fitness level, track your progress and establish goals or milestones. What I particularly like about Pacemaster treadmills is that it allows you to do exactly the type of program that you want. If you feel like taking a slow walk than steadily increase the speed, the treadmill will help you, if you feel an energy rush and you want to start fast and lower the rhythm afterwards, the treadmill can help you. Altogether a pretty adaptable machine. As a side note, you should always respect the warm up period that the treadmill suggests to avoid any accidents. Another highpoint in the design of the Pacemaster treadmills is the motivation it builds. When they have built those treadmills, it is clear that they were building them for lazy people, pretty much like me. What I like most about this system is the "calories burnt" display, although distance, time and Aerobic Points are also displayed. All of these of course in real time. The technology involved in creating these technological wonders, which these treadmills undoubtedly are, is by itself impressive. The thing that mostly stands apart from similar treadmill companies is the very good software implementation of the monitors. The Aerobic Points system in particular is very interesting. This system was first proposed by doctor Kenneth Cooper and it is supposed to more accurately describe how effective the exercise is relative to factors such as the amount of burnt calories, cardiovascular improvement, muscle build up and many, many others. To transform this system and adapt it to a computer processor isn't exactly very difficult, to make react in real time it is. This is why the Pacemaster treadmills have very powerful dual processors on board and this is also, at least partially, the reason for which they are so expensive. I sometimes got the distinct feeling that I was not dealing with a treadmill anymore, but with a real life trainer. And that's exactly the manufacturer's intention. Altogether when it comes to flexibility and at the same time reliability, without the worry of too much strained budget, a Pacemaster treadmill is a pretty good high end choice. Combine that with a very good built in training program, good monitoring and a wide variety of preprogrammed alternatives and you will have the treadmill of your dreams.
