Finger Knitting - Learn how to do it
|
To start finger knitting you need to wrap the end of the yarn around your thumb. You want to move the strand from there down across your palm to your index finger. Next you want to wrap the yarn around your index finger and then to your middle finger. You also want to move on to your ring finger and the pinkie finger so that they are all covered. It is best to use the hand that you don't write with to wrap the yarn onto. That way you can use your dominate hand for the actual finger knitting process. To get started you want to take the yarn from your pinkie and pull it towards your index finger. You want to take it strand over strand starting with your pinkie all the way to your index finger. You don't do it with your thumb though as that is simply your guide. There is too much space between your other fingers and the thumb for finger knitting to work well on it. When you get to the index finger you are ready to start all over again. You want to take the yarn behind the hand though away from the palm. They you can guide it to the pinkie and work from there once again. As you work you will see that you have a great looking pattern going on. You can continue to do this until the project is the desired length that you would like it. You can insert pencils to the finger positions if you need to stop the work now but want to continue it later on. If you haven't given finger knitting a try why not? You can buy various colors of yarn at most retail stores or craft shops. This can be a great way to help you relax too or to pass the evening when it is too cold to be outside. Once you get started with finger knitting you will find it is a fun activity that keeps your fingers busy. If you are trying to quit smoking or to lose weight this can help you stop reaching to light up or for foods you don't need as well. About The Author: Kurtis Hoeck is new write for Articleclick.
