Flaky Skin - Tips for Getting Rid of It
|
Tip #1 - Gently Wash Your Face - First of all, you need to make sure that you gently wash your face and the rest of your body. It's very important that you use only warm water instead of hot water, since this will dry your face out more. Also, avoid using a harsh soap on your face. Use a gently moisturizing cleanser and gently wash the face. Pat your face dry too instead of drying off roughly with a towel. Tip #2 - Moisturize Every Day - Another important tip that can help you combat flaky skin is to make sure that you moisturize each day. Go with a deep moisturizer that has been developed for people who are dealing with dry skin. Usually you'll want to apply the moisturizer when the skin is still a bit damp and warm so that it will soak into the skin well. Apply in the morning as well as in the evening before you go off to bed. Tip #3 - Try Using a Facial Mask - A great moisturizing facial mask that is made for dry skin can be a great way to get rid of that flaky skin as well. It can help you get rid of skin cells that are dead and dry so that you are not constantly flaking all the time. Just avoid a mask that will dry out the skin or it may cause your problem to get worse. Tip #4 - Stop Smoking - Stop smoking if you want to get rid of dry skin. Smoking is one of the worst things to do if you happen to have skin that is already dry. It makes your capillaries get smaller and this results in the skin not getting the nutrients that are needed to keep it healthy and moist. So, it's definitely important to stop smoking if you want to avoid skin that is dry and flaky. Tip #5 - Avoid Sun Damage - Last of all, if you want to get rid of flaky skin, avoid sun damage. When you get too much sun, it causes damage to the skin and also dries the skin out as well. So, if you do have to be outside, make sure that you put on a lot of sun block so that you avoid this problem. About The Author: |
