Foods With Fiber - Which Are They?
|
The fiber you need exists in the walls of the plant cells. You need to eat certain quantities of foods rich in fiber if you want to have a diet that is good for maintaining a good health. Here are some well known foods that are rich in fiber. For instance, a medium size banana has about 3 grams of fiber, so this fruit is very good for your diet. Apples and pears also have about 4 grams a piece, while blackberries or raspberries have about 4 grams for a half a cup of fruit. Not only fruits are rich in fiber. Half a cup of any kind of beans has about 6 to 10 grams of fiber, which makes beans an important source of this healthy substance. Peas also are rich in fiber, as well as carrots, cereals, broccoli or lima beans. Eating only three dried figs can bring you 10 grams of fiber. Do not forget about potatoes that are also a good source of fiber. From the list, we must also mention, Brussels sprouts, bread - two slices of bread can provide up to 7 grams of fiber - , greens like spinach or kale, lima beans and lentils. With this list at hand, you can make yourself a diet rich in fiber for maintaining or improving your health. Do not forget to eat foods rich in fiber every day for assuring proper functioning to your bowels and to prevent constipation. Drink enough water, because water is important, too, for the activity of your bowels. Combined with fiber, water will allow your bowels to absorb the necessary fiber and to move naturally, while you are healthy and happy. Foods rich in fiber are very important for a healthy diet. But there are persons that do not see any improvement in their bowels activity, even if they changed their daily diet including the necessary foods. In such cases, fiber supplements are recommended. You can find on the market supplements with rice bran or psyllium. Consume the right food and take supplements for several weeks and you will notice an improvement to your bowels movement. This way, the toxins in your body will be eliminated better and you will feel healthier. About The Author: Alphonso Sirtle is the Editor and Publisher of Article Click.
