Ford Parts - The Pioneer and Standard of Auto Part Excellence
|
Presently, OEM Ford parts can be grouped into seven major categories based on automobile types. Ford is now concentrating its efforts in developing, manufacturing and marketing seven major types of automobiles. These automobile types include the sports utility vehicle (SUV), the pickup truck, the crossover or hybrid, the sedan, the coupe, the convertible and the van. These different types of automobiles have their respective model lineups. Each model typically has few specific parts that are particular to it. Generally speaking, finding reliable replacements for these parts is somewhat difficult. In most cases, only the OEM parts may perfectly fit the specifications. This does not necessarily mean that no aftermarket products can be used as substitutes. As long as the specifications are the same, aftermarket substitutes may work well. On the other hand, most automobile parts can be replaced with aftermarket components regardless of the brand, model or make. Most automobile parts are not model-specific. This means that certain parts can literally be transferred from one automobile model to another. Unlike organ transplant, transferring or using different brands as substitutes generally does not result in rejection or incompatibility. Ideally, it is still if specific OEM parts are used as substitutes for deteriorated parts. Specific Ford parts are still ideal for Ford automobiles compared to aftermarket replacements. Some decorative accessories and structural parts may be loosely replaced with alternative parts. However, the case is radically different when it comes to engine parts such as the pistons, valves and crankshaft. Most engine parts are precision parts. Some aftermarket replacement parts may not be as reliable as the OEM components. Using OEM standard parts is still the most prudent option.
