French Twist Hair - A Woman's Friend

One of the most classically beautiful things that you will see on women is French twist hair. The French twist is not only lovely, it is versatile as well. There are so many different versions of this hair twist that you can do that women could come into a styling salon for only this type of hairstyle and none of them would have to get the same exact one. French twist hair works beautifully as a formal hairstyle, but can be fashioned more casually for work or a day of shopping.

If you have medium length to long hair, you can and probably should learn how to do your own French twist hair. In a pinch, it can take a bad hair day and make it into a good hair day. For a job interview, it can be just the right touch for a businesslike but friendly look. For a night at the opera it can flow seamlessly with the elegance of your entire outfit. Though learning how to do French twist hair on your own is a good idea for the casual types of this style, you would probably need help for the more formal versions. The formal versions often include little tricks that add a bit more elegance.

The basic French twist hair style is where the hair is brushed back away from the face and forehead. The hair is held up as if being prepared for a pony tail, and then twisted and curled under before being pinned up. This creates a soft, upswept look as opposed to a severe bun, and can be manipulated for slightly different effects. The hair can be laid flat against the head and pulled back fairly tightly for the more businesslike look, for example. To be softer and more casual, the hair can be pinned loosely but securely, perhaps letting a few strands fall about the face. Formal versions of the French twist can be much more elaborate, such as when the hair is teased up a bit first, then the twist is done slowly, pulling separate sections of hair up along the head.

There are many ways to accessorize French twist hair, and this can be one of the more fun aspects of wearing this hairstyle. When wearing it for a casual event you can adorn it with whimsical things such as flower or butterfly pins. For more formal occasions, an elegant jeweled pin or clip can add just the right touch. Ribbons can even be wound through the twist, although this would most certainly mean that you would need help. Whether or not you learn to do at least the basic French twist yourself, it is good to know that you can always count on it to make your hair look beautiful.
