Funeral Attire: Proper Dress Codes For Funerals

Everybody knows that funerals require dressing in black. Some variations for an attire may be possible, however. Men, for instance, should wear a black suit. As for the shirt, a white shirt with a not so noticeable tie works well. Also, a black turtleneck, a black shirt with a long tie, or a black dress shirt with no tie, work as well. For women, the following rules must be applied. A black suit, skirt or pants, is recommended. Also, in the summer, a cocktail dress with a less extravagant cut can be worn. In the winter, black skirt with black sweater or a long sleeved dress that is not too short, are among the accepted attires. Women always must wear close toed shoes and not any kind of hat but a black wide brimmed one. For children, rules must be applied, as well. Little boys must wear black suits, and girls dresses that flow from the shoulders with no beads or sequins. Black is not always the color that is worn at funerals. Some may want to choose a deep red or a pale blue, but avoid any bright colors, as these will be considered offensive. Dress that are tasteful and conservative are the most recommended. The funeral service always requires that kind of look, so women must restrain from wearing sexy black dresses, and the shoulders must always be covered. The most appropriate shoes are black, as well, but refrain from mistake as wearing too fashionable shoes at a funeral. If you have a habit of going to church, then you will know the perfect rules for dressing up for a funeral. A funeral dress is recommended for women, but no sun dresses, with celebratory patterns, or flashy designs. Polished shoes will always make a good impression, for men, and for women, too. While the service is being held, no one should take out their jackets, but they can be removed while outside, when the temperature is too hot. For pall bearers, a suit or dark sports coats with ties are the most appropriate. For the different days of the funeral, you may be requires to wear different outfits. If you have to travel for the funeral, make sure you have everything with you. Black is the order of things in some cases. So everything must be black from tie to socks.
