Gender Ultrasound

The great debate raves on. Should you or should you not know the sex of your unborn child. Well there is no right or wrong answer. It's all about what works for you and your husband or partner. The only major concern is putting too much faith in what you see. A 10% margin of error is pretty large. And the biggest problem is that if the technician doesn't see a penis it is automatically assumed that the baby is female. The trouble is there is many more ways to distinguish boy from girl and a good technician will know what to look for but a poor one will not and could provide you with the wrong information. So the moral of the story here is don't rush out and buy all blue or pink or decorate a room according to sex because it could be wrong. There are many reasons for deciding to find out the sex or wait and see. Here are just a few of them. Why find out baby's sex:1. Makes picking a name easier.2. It helps for buying clothing.3. It helps for decorating the nursery.4. It helps for pre-birth bonding.5. It's fun to know in advance. Why not find out:1. It's all about the surprise isn't it?2. The suspense makes the last month of pregnancy easier to handle.3. To annoy friends and family.4. To keep friends and family guessing.5. Don't care as long as baby is healthy. An ultrasound should not be done just to determine the sex of your baby. Although no side effects are known you should never have an ultrasound that is not for medicinal reasons and not done by a qualified technician. At the end of the day does it really matter whether you are going to have a boy or girl? Isn't what's really important is the health of your baby? And isn't knowing that your baby is healthy enough to keep you guessing? A gender ultrasound is certainly an option but is it the right option for you?
