Get Rid Of Your Stress In 5 Minutes
|
Have you, as I have, felt stress within your life because you have not done things that should have been done? Then you are one of the 99.99% of the population that has the symptoms of stress. Hundreds of thousands of people annually are on sick leave because they are suffering stress-related symptoms. It can range from everything from back problems, sleeping problems to deep depression. At the same time the companies are putting more and more money into finding ways of dealing with the stress among their employees. Society spends millions of dollars on medication and care of the symptoms, but the real reason for the stress symptoms is rarely discussed. The problem is that as long as society takes all responsibility for how we are feeling, the stress in society will remain, and more and more people will feel poorly and will be on sick leave as a result. The solution is instead, to put the responsibility on the individual, since it is us that knows ourselves best and know what we need to do to feel good. Then if we still feel stress in our work and day to day lives, it is our own responsibility to set boundaries to keep the stress at bay. Of course there is an exception to this rule wherein the individual has lost their ability to cope, and then society needs to step in and help these individuals. In order for you to cope with stress, you must understand what stress is. Stress is an expectation that something 'negative' will happen and/or a symptom of something negative that has already happened. What is perceived as negative is different for different individuals; a rainy day can be something negative for one person while with another person, perhaps only the loss of a loved one would be considered something negative to them. The key is: 1. To be able to change the negative expectation of what is going to happen or change the negative reaction to what has already happened. 2. Find out which feeling you want to change-for example, worrying that you can not get things done in time. 3. Replace the feeling with what you want to experience when you begin to feel stressed. For example: I am calm and safe in all situations. Focus on that feeling when the stress grips you. Use this to program your negative thoughts and habits so that you only react when the stress is authentic and urgent. For example: It is a danger to your life or to your family. Tell yourself that a rainy day does not decide whether you feel good or not. Good Luck!
