Getting the Proper RV Ventilation
|
So, why do you need RV ventilation? Well, RVs tend to gather mold, dust, and bacteria. You need fresh air to keep those nasty things moving along. People will find that improper RV ventilation can cause not only degrading of the frame of your RV, but can also be deadly for the occupants. Good RV ventilation will save your family, friends, pets, and even make your RV last longer. The first step to good RV ventilation is making sure you have natural ventilation. This can be a simple flip up or wind up fan that usually is found in the middle of most RVs as well in the bathroom areas. These should be raised as often as possible, but larger RVs will usually have a more complex system for ventilation. You may also find that simply opening the door as often as possible is a great way to prevent poor circulation. Getting good RV ventilation is essential to the life of you and your RV. If simply opening the door from time to time can cause you and your investment a longer, healthier life together, then that seems like an obvious step. On occasion, I suggest you also perform a bit of maintenance on your RV ventilation system. This can be as easy as cleaning out the vents, but you may find your RV has filters that need to be changed as well. Form time to time, I suggest you also go from room to check the integrity of the frame as well. Pay close attention to places where extreme moisture and humidity can cause damage. The bathroom for instance is a great place to look. At the first signs of rotting boards or damage, you should immediately get a professional to repair the damage. Usually, by the time you see actual damage, the problem is bigger than you think. The bigger the problem, the more expensive the options for repairing the RV ventilation system in most cases. Of course, you may need to get a better ventilation system in your RV. This is something you should investigate if you have a lot of problems with humidity and moisture.
