It is very contagious, and many people know of it as "the clap" as well. If the problem does not get the needed treatment, then it can turn into a serious problem. The Symptoms of the Problem

In men and women, they often notice that they are having a discharge from the vagina or penis that is bloody or thick and cloudy. Other symptoms include urinating frequently, having pain when having to urinate, and even pain while having sex. The Causes

The main cause of this problem is a bacterium, which is known as Neisseria gonorrhoeae. This bacterium can be spread through the fluids from the vagina or penis that are present when engaging in sexual contact that is not protected. Often over the counter pain medications, such as Advil and Aleve, are used to treat the pain, but they are not considered to be cures with the problem.

How You Can Prevent It

Rather than treat the problem, it is definitely better if you work to prevent Gonneria. You can protect yourself from getting this problem if you are careful. In order to prevent it, you need to make sure that you don't use oral sex, and that you use condoms during sexual intercourse that are made of latex. Abstaining from sex with multiple partners can help you prevent this problem as well. If you do end up having Gonneria, make sure that you don't have any sexual contact until you have been on antibiotics and the infection is totally gone.
