Grass Trimmers And Hedge Trimmers
|
Hedge trimmers should only be used by adults. Hedge trimmers are very dangerous and should never be used by children. They are built with double sided blades ranging from 6 inches to 28 inches. The blades are built with intent to cut branches with a thickness of 1 inches. Hedge trimmers should only be used by physically healthy individuals strong enough to hold heavy weight with arms extended. Asking a child to help cut or trim hedges is an accident waiting to happen. To avoid any possible injuries related hedge trimmers, be aware of what they are capable of and never hesitate to consult your owner's manual if a problem with the grass trimmer arises. First time grass trimmers should be aware that even a cable or string if spun at a high enough RPM can cause serious damage. Before using the grass trimmer you can ready yourself to prevent any possible accidents. Read the owner's manual and if there are any troubles interpreting instructions then do not be afraid to call the retailer from which the grass trimmer was purchased. To get accustomed to the weight, take it out of the box and try a dry run. Look at the controls and compare them with the owner's manual to familiarize yourself with the unit and its functions. Hedge trimmers should be used with the most caution. They are much more dangerous then lawnmowers, edger, and grass trimmers as they are the hardest to use and are capable of causing the most damage. Some hedge trimmers can way up to 5 pounds; however, there is especially light weight models available in the market usually priced with high end products. Similar to the grass trimmer, I would recommend taking the hedge trimmer out of the box, and hold it up to your chest to get a feel of its weight. The blades are very long, so try to get used to maneuvering the sometime double sided blades. Proper maintenance is a key factor contributing to safe garden work. After a few uses of your edger, lawnmower, grass trimmer, and hedge trimmer will need routine maintenance to ensure safety. They all have different components to tune up; however they follow the same basic idea. Prior to usage, ensure that all blades or moving parts are moving properly, if not add an oil lubricator. Depending on the type of equipment being used, check the oil tank or gas tank for leaks, and replace if necessary. Doing a sweep around the area to get rid of toys, garden tools, or stray trash will minimize debris and stoppages caused by hard objects. The bulk of garden accidents concerning lawnmowers, edgers, grass trimmers, and hedge trimmers are preventable. A rule of thumb is to always remove the starter or sparkplug when doing major maintenance to cables, or blades to ensure it does not accidentally start. Tie back all loose clothing and hair to avoid getting it caught. When using a hedge trimmer, you may want to consider wearing safety goggles.
