Have Your Coffee And Your Cake Too
|
Most of us crawl out of bed and drag ourselves to the coffee pot. We need that cup of java to get us moving. We drink it through the day, drink with dinner, and we even drink it through the evening. We love our coffee. So why not have our coffee and our cake too? Now I know you are wondering what the heck I’m talking about. Well coffee cake of course. But not just “coffee cake” more like coffee in your cake. Now I know you think I’m going crazy but if you ask any chef they’ll tell you that coffee enhances the flavor of almost any dessert recipe. If you don’t believe me why not give it a try? Buy the best ground coffee you can find. Believe me the extra cost does make a difference. Always use fresh coffee and make it the strength you normally would for drinking. Now start cooking. Think about how much fun this can be. You can drink your coffee and cook with it all at the same time. And who’s going to believe you when you tell them you are adding coffee to all your favorite recipes? They’ll think you’ve been into the sauce not the coffee. If you have a coffee grinder then there is no better coffee for your baking then coffee made from freshly ground beans. It is the purest, richest, flavor you can hope to add to any recipe. You can also use flavor enhanced coffees such as Irish cream, mocha, or hazelnut. If you are using flavored coffee you’ll just have to be a little more careful about which recipes you are mixing it into so that the two flavors don’t contradict each other. Any chance you get to substitute coffee for another liquid in your recipe do it. So if your recipe asks for a cup of water substitute a cup of coffee. If it asks for a cup of milk substitute a half cup coffee and half cup milk. Never miss the opportunity to replace other liquids with coffee. You remember those nutmeg and cinnamon cookies your mom always backed for you? Remember how delicious and flavorful they were? Now try making them with coffee and you’ll instantly see what I’m talking about. The flavor of the cinnamon and nutmeg will be enhanced considerably taking you from delicious to double delicious! Your favorite deep fudge cake just got even better with the addition of that cup of java. You’ll be tasting fudge like you’ve never had it before. And your favorite Mocha Cake will have a depth of flavor that you simply can’t imagine without trying it. Now that the secret is out about the power of coffee you’ll have friends and family wondering what you’ve done to your recipes. In fact they’ll be begging you to share. But wait, just because you know the secrets of coffee and cake why tell; why not keep them guessing for awhile. After all you’ve just been promoted to the title of “best dessert hostess” why tell them it’s so easy they could do it too. Isn’t it your time to be in the spot light? Why not have your coffee and your cake too? About The Author: Aura Mirchandani is the Editor and Publisher of Article Click. For more FREE articles for your ezine and websites visit ArticleClick.com.
