Dogs love to receive treats a lot, and you also enjoy feeding your pet with little snacks from time to time. But the truth is that the treats made for dogs that are sold in pet stores are not so good for your animal, because they are no more than a bag of chemicals and carbs. Here is a great idea about how to give your dog some healthy treats after a recipe that you can do on your own.

The recipe is for banana pupcakes. You will need to pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees F. Then use as many mini muffin pan cups you have and grease them as part of the preparation. In a blender, grind one cup and a half with oatmeal, until you obtain a fine powder. This fine powder will then be mixed with one cup and a half of whole wheat flour and a tablespoon of baking powder. This will be the bowl with dry ingredients.

You will also use the blender for the next step. Two bananas, one tablespoon of vanilla, three tablespoons of honey must be mixed in the blender, then they must be mixed slowly with two cups of water that will be poured over them. This liquid mixture must be poured over the dry ingredients and mixed together well. With a spoon, take some of the mixture resulted this way and fill all the pans up to the brim. Put all the pans in the oven and let them bake there for about twenty minutes. After you take them out of the oven, let the pans cool down on a wire rack. Finally, you will have a lot of healthy treats for your dog, cooked in your own oven, by your own hands.

Here are some tips. If you want to cut down on the baking time, you can use an aluminum pan. This material will allow the baking to take less time than when you use a darker metal pan. Also, it is a good idea to check on your muffins after fifteen minutes. As they are so small, they may end up baking before the due time. If you want to have your muffins for a longer period of time and use them when needed, you can refrigerate or freeze them and they will last longer.

It is not a wise thing to treat your dog with hot pupcakes. Also, do not overfeed your pet with them, as two per day are more than enough to give as treats.
